Robin Pecknold

Last night, Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold posted a demo of a new solo-acoustic song called “Olivia, In A Separate Bed” to Soundcloud. It’s a tender, apologetic, heartbroken song that seems to be about the end of a relationship. (Pecknold also posted a bunch of Tweets, since deleted, that support that idea.) The song is nearly six minutes of hangdog loveliness, and you can stream it below.

Now someone please give this dude a hug.

  1. I chose the love of strangers
    I chose the fickle crowd
    And the woman I wagered
Won’t look at me right now, not now
    I know I’ve been like a houseguest
Give me this, give me that

    – that’s killer

    • * house cat, not houseguest

      • Hmm… I like houseguest better. It better implies the awkwardness of the situation. Housecat is alright, but it makes me think of a cat lying back on the sofa and exposing its soft, warm underbelly in the expectation of gentle stroking, whilst a shaft of sunlight glitters up the dust motes. Maybe that’s what he was going for.

  2. Everything Robin puts out is pretty stunning…fantastic peek of whats brewing

  3. I would totally give Robin Pecknold a hug, but alas, I’m not in Seattle.
