Bruce Springsteen on Fallon

It’s Springsteen Week on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, which means we’re just starting a solid five shows of Boss-related goodness. And on the first show of the week, Fallon hosted Bruce himself, along with his E Street Band. On last night’s show, Springsteen played probably the two best songs from his new album Wrecking Ball, “We Take Care Of Our Own” and the title track. They sounded huge and magnificent, treating the studio stage like a stadium, and Fallon was accordingly geeked-up. And as an extra bonus, the performances gave us a rare and nice opportunity to see Max Weinberg playing drums on Late Night again. Watch both songs below.

Wrecking Ball is out 3/6 on Columbia.

  1. Bruce can do no wrong. And Fallon’s show keeps getting better and better.

  2. Having given Wrecking Ball a few spins, I have to agree with what Tom recently wrote in his Premature Evaluation about the album. It’s still good, but I tend to lose interest when The Boss lets his busking crunchy folk flag fly. He still manages to make those songs rock when performed live, though, as these Fallon clips prove.

  3. Bruce is doing a bad Craig Finn impersonation.

  4. this song is pretty terrible…

  5. I loved this performance…I only hope to see it repeated live when I win the TouchTunes Contest:) Check it out!
