This morning, Santigold debuted the video for her new single “Disparate Youth,” and it’s a pretty striking one. In the clip, Santigold rides a motorcycle and a speedboat through some gorgeous Caribbean locale before wandering into some sort of voodoo-type magical ritual. It’s all very Serpent And The Rainbow. Santi co-directs it alongside Sam Fleischner. Watch it below.

I like the kid with the long nail attachment things. It reminds me of when we used to take Bugles and put them on our fingertips as kids. That aside, it’s pretty swell that Santi can make a video without having to get all dolled up in some sort of over-the-top future-fashion costume, and she’s a total babe for it.

I don’t disgree with the similarity between this and XTC however, the similarity between the video and either “Hungry Like the Wolf” or “RIO” videos is ridiculous…
