Awesome video alert: Grimes’ restless, dazed electro-pop bounce “Oblivion” now has a video, and it’s a collection of images of the stylish and surprisingly divisive Montreal iconoclast Claire Boucher, looking radiantly happy, singing her song in all sorts of unlikely locations, including a motocross exhibition and a roomful of sweaty dudes moshing for no reason. In fact, the video is awfully heavy on shirtless dudes, and there’s also a quick flash of dude-asscheek that renders this borderline NSFW. Emily Kai Bock directs. Watch the video and download the track below.

Grimes’ Visions is out now on 4AD.

offputting and endearing at the same time GAH
Does anyone notice Grimes’ lisp?
Yep. Kind of negates the whole “robot” thing…
It’s gotta be affected. How does someone even have a lisp when saying the word “see”?
Noticed it live. Maybe she’s wearing a retainer?
If you look closely in the video, whenever she says “else” she puts her tongue to her front teeth. JUST SAYING.
The purposeful, forced, lisp… I heard her speaking with people the other night and she definitely doesn’t have a natural lisp. I think that’s the main reason I can’t get in to her music (as shallow and strange as that is), but I can see why people like her.
I liked her before, I LOVE her now.
..girl you know you GOTTA watch your health
One of those rare videos that makes you wish the performer was your best friend… Pitch perfect, imo.
this made me like her even more. a lot of hot here.

Huh…I was just thinking the same thing.
I think everyone misread my comment. I took that chance and lost, I guess.
Not everyone, I got it. It was the proper comedic way to answer that.
Nobody would care if you went away
You know, it’d probably be even better if the song was named skyrim.
Nice, I like how they address the lip-synching thing in music videos by making it someone singing along to the music on their headphones.
Thank Grimes for all the abs.
can i say something…
before anyone else names their song “oblivion,” can someone please do a mash up of John Vanderslice’s Oblivion with Mastadon’s “Oblivion” (or at least the dub-step remix)?
I’m sorry, I’ve tried…..this does nothing for me.
