Cornelius, the eclectic Japanese musician/producer/composer born Keigo Oyamada, has a new single out today. "Aeons" is his latest collab with Sean Ono Lennon, whose father John participated in Hands Across America 40 years ago yesterday. The track is centered on a tight plastic groove, with Ono Lennon's smooth vocals gliding through the mic alongside lots of guitar and keyboard stabs. Cornelius offered this statement:
As the world and my surroundings changed at an intense speed, I think all of that inevitably shaped this work. Rather than expressing these ideas directly, I approached them structurally - exploring continuity, transformation, and multiple coexisting states within a single, uninterrupted flow of time.
