Two echoplexes, samplers, keyboards, John Stanier's ultral hi-hat, and an army of pedals cluttered the Mayan Theater stage for a predominantly vocal free night as Battles brought their complex time signatures to life in support of Gloss Drop. Nisennenmondai hailing from Japan impressed with their Sonic Youth like instrumental set, and the two man pairing of Walls went the ambient route with their hazy synthesizer textured tunes.
