Earlier today, Sleigh Bells stopped by Zane Lowe’s BBC show and aired a couple of acoustic tracks they’d recorded for a Maida Vale session. One was an unplugged version of the single “Comeback Kid,” and the other was their take on their possible future collaborator Beyoncé’s breakup anthem “Irreplaceable.” It’s a completely straight-up cover that never bursts into the staticy noise or the ultra-compressed metal riffage we’ve come to expect from them, and you can hear Alexis Krauss’s teenpop past in the sweetness of her vocal. Stream it below.

I guess “Get Me Bodied” would’ve been too much to hope for.

Would’ve been nice to hear an actual Sleigh Bells’ version rather than a straight up cover.
What do you mean? Couldn’t you tell half of it was influenced by Butt Rock?
I hope the down vote was from a person who doesn’t understand sarcasm
Alexis Krauss, not “Allison.” Unless Alexis Krauss is Allison Krauss’s rock alter ego.
I am waiting for the inevitable mashup.
I fixed, thanks Rysn
MEH
When Buzz bands ATTACK(and fizzle) Vol. 1!!!….
i love sleigh bells but please allow me to ask what in the fuck that shit was
First Chairlift, now Sleigh Bells. Next, Grimes will cover “Single Ladies”.
This cover is definitely lacking infinity guitars!
For an hour??
Sounds like a stale piece of bread
Lame
Lamest ish ever. They went from a brilliant debut album to two terrible songs on SNL (haven’t listened to the album yet) and now this ish. Another good band makes a splash and then drowns.
Comeback Kid terrible? No way! Maybe it’s a little too mainstream for you but the song is catchy as hell
Comeback Kid has no cool riff or melody – that’s just one note repeating over each chord. Only cool thing about it is the cadence of the hook “…try a little harder you’re the comeback kid”. I think they forgot to write the rest of the song.
No, the stuff I liked most on their debut was the more mainstream stuff, but the rest too. Looking forward to listening to all of Reign of Terror, hope it’s better than the stuff I’ve heard so far.
Boring. Sounds like karaoke, and there is no ‘sleigh bells’ in it.
I’m just getting into Sleigh Bells and I’m damn happy that I am…
Wow, this is incredibly bad but exactly what I expected.
