You don’t have to pack into crammed rock clubs/attend huge festivals/scour YouTube for crap-grade performance clips for tastes of the Led Stone Age Fighters supergroup much longer: Them Crooked Vultures have a self-titled debut out next month, and the studio song they want you to hear first is “New Fang.” For fans of riffs.

Them Crooked Vultures is out 11/16 in the UK via Columbia and 11/17in North America via DGC/Interscope.

I have not been this excited for an album release in quite some time.
Kyle, you do realize this isn’t a Weezer post, right? ;)
I have to agree. Very excited for this.
Boring and gimmicky.
We’re not discussing your latest film, Sacha.
sounds good to me!
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!
Holy shit, real dangerous good rock n’ roll still exists.
I am seriously digging this.
Not impressed with this song. ZZ Top much?
Who the hell’s ZZ Top?
Comparing this song to ZZ Top makes me like that much more, thanks guy.
They were just the first thing that popped into my head. There’s definitely a classic rock feel to this song, though.
And this song is certainly not “dangerous”. It’s not flashy or technically stunning, it barely has any variety, and Jones is under-emphasized. I’m not saying I don’t like the sound; it’s just that compared to the other stuff that has made its way to the internet and as the first official track, this is kind of underwhelming.
I love voting down shitty posts.
Anyway, this is pretty tight. Hoping for a solid record from this solid lineup of amazing musicians.. this is a great start.
i had high hopes…this song’s not that interesting, though.
vote down your face, Flargimmer. that’s right, I said it!
This is the fucking shit! Homme always brings his own sound to anything he touches. For some that’s a good thing but it’s not for everyone. If only Plant still had his whole vocal-range in tact….
This sucks. Dangerous? This is the safest rock music I have heard in years. I met all these guys recently and they are really nice and genuine though, so kudos for that. Sounds like they are just goofing off and having fun, they all have already made dangerous records…
Safe? You have been lobotomized by all the pussy shit out there.
Rocks my ball sack off – that’s what I was hoping and expecting from these guys.
Josh Homme and Dave Grohl should do this more often. I can’t wait to hear this not on YouTube.
Uhhh…Wank city. If you’re into that.
Yeah it’s really awful to hear musicians who can actually play their instruments and want to record it in a way that doesn’t sound like shit. What a crying shame.
:) :) :) :)
this is great. good to have these guys doing their thing. i don’t think they care about what the expectations are and they are not trying to revolutionize anything (for those who say this is nothing new…) and is just refreshing to hear something like that. sooo looking forward to this, needed it.
Meh. Their potential to be great is overwhelming their inability to write anything that actually is.
Josh Homme has never let me down. Love it.
This would sound sick in an Ed Hardy commercial.
Did Jack White write this? It doesn’t matter cause I think it’s pretty great. Josh sounds awesome, JPJ’s groovong and Grohl is bashing the shit out of the kit. Works for me.
Bleh – You are an idiot. Josh Homme would knock your dick in the dirt. Grohl, JPJ, and Homme? WTF else is out there that is this exciting in today’s boring ass catalogue of poppy bullshit?
ew, classic rock
Lenny Kravitz in disguise. What a pile of crap, Lenny and them Vultures.
I know you want to bring these imposters of your beloved Lenny to justice but can take solace in the fact that maybe Sephora will have a sale on guy liner and toss in a feather bowa to calm you down.
Man, I want to like this so much. But alas, it feels uninspired. More like a jam session than a single. All of these guys do great work in their own elements, but I hope that rest of this release has more to offer.
saw them live at chicago for the lolla after party show. they kick ass. its great to see dave back on drums
