Radiohead played their first US show last night in West Palm Beach, Florida. We were Cinco de Mayoing in NYC so we missed it, but Rolling Stone was there. Let's hope they carpooled. New Radiohead Video - "All I Need"

The first night the entire internet took a group listen to In Rainbows, "All I Need" pulled ahead as an early favorite for its Boards Of Canada-inspired "Roy G. Biv"ing and its apparently lovelorn lyrics: "i am a moth /...  CONTINUE READING NEW RADIOHEAD VIDEO - "ALL I NEED"»

Judas Priest And Slayer Join MBV, Radiohead, Jay-Z, And Neil Young At Roskilde '08

Brandon can attest, last year's Roskilde was a glorious mud bath. We're guessing it can't rain as much this time around, but even if it does, the lineup's intriguing enough that if you can find a way to get to...  CONTINUE READING JUDAS PRIEST AND SLAYER JOIN MBV, RADIOHEAD, JAY-Z, AND NEIL YOUNG AT ROSKILDE '08»

The 'Gum Drop Volume XXVII: Hear New Witch, Win Radiohead Swag

We're really digging Witch's Paralyzed, out 3/18 on Tee Pee. This week's Drop, "Old Trap Mine," is the epic finale from that nine-song collection, which finds the Vermont/Western Mass crew expanding into heavier, sludgier, occasionally up-tempo punk-ish realms. The rhythm...  CONTINUE READING THE 'GUM DROP VOLUME XXVII: HEAR NEW WITCH, WIN RADIOHEAD SWAG»

Radiohead, Jack Johnson, Tom Petty To Play SF's Outside Lands, Another New Summer Festival

In what's surely the summer of Jack Johnson's life, another new festival's been announced and, yes, the peaceful surfing Curious George scribe's at the top of the schedule. Who knew so many people were on Jack's johnson? For Western commenters jealous over Radiohead's spot at Jersey's APW, you'll get another look at Thom & Co., too. (That makes like six.) It'll take place August 22-24 in Golden Gate Park. More details to come.

Jack Johnson Joins Radiohead For APW, Jersey's Summer Music Fest

Two Nights Of Radiohead At All Points West

That according to URB, and why would URB lie to you? The inaugural APW Music & Arts Fest (brought to you by AEG Live and Goldenvoice) takes place 8/8-8/10 at Liberty State Park. That's where we saw Radiohead in August 2001 ... though this time instead of Beta Band as openers, we'll probably get Jack Johnson. All signs point to APW fitting nicely into that second leg of Thom & Co's North American tour. Get psyched, Jersey City.

Thom Yorke DJs NPR, Still Loves Liars

Now that we've spent most of our V-Day pausing and playing our way through Thom's interview/DJ set at NPR's All Songs Considered, we are, officially, in the mood. And also we are of a mind that you, too, should indulge in this pastime. Mostly because it's just another in this recent string of instances by which Thom not only increasingly appears to be human -- but the most awesome human. He again rhapsodizes about his love for Liars Drum's Not Dead (yay for officially having at least one thing in common with the guy), plays "Kill Bill Vol. 4." from Modeselektor's Hello Mom ("because it is the most full-on club track, complete with the guys talking in the toilet beforehand"), is asked if he still goes clubbing ("It's all over"), and identifies his favorite lyricist (Madvillian i.e. MF Doom, who is "just on the edge of the freestyling thing all the time ... it's like Bob Dylan but without any folk ... it's like the last 50 years never happened ... it takes a lot of courage to knock out these rhymes the way he does").

New Radiohead Video - "Videotape"
