More from Justin Vernon's La Blog session, friends. The first spate of Take Aways was about as great as you'd expect when combining the series' cinematic stylings and Vernon's wounded croons (I especially enjoyed Vincent orbiting Justin and the other two Ivers during the reconstructed "Lump Sum"). Our friends at La Blogothèque, which is French for The Blogotheque (my French is the best), have posted Part 2 of their testament to Bon Iver's trip to Paris, switching the scene to an intimate apartment party in Montmartre.
First up is a second take of "Flume" (which starts with Justin tease-covering the great "Olive Hearts" by old tourmates and fellow purveyors of earthen folk greatness, Bowerbirds) and then "Wolves (Acts I & II)" (always a crowd pleaser, always better live than on For Emma). But best of all is the set-closing "Skinny Love": Vincent takes the vantage point behind Justin, facing the party-goers, and for a few minutes we get to see what he sees every night -- a roomful of eyes lit up, drinking all they can about the guy.

I wouldn't kick being part of the La Blog crew out of the bed in the morning. Those people are loving it. It must be nice to travel the world and have beautiful women beam smiles at you all night. (Yes apparently I'm just realizing that being a rock star is a fun time.) I wonder if those Parisians gave him a hard time about the bad French of his stage name (my French is the best)? Chryde I see you in there and you are going to sprain your neck if you keep rocking out like that. As always there's a story that goes along with the session to make you a little more envious. Read that here.
