“Harvest Moon” Becomes An Unlikely Charity Anthem

Some said Dreamin' Man -- essentially Harvest Moon Live '92 -- was a curious choice for the latest of Neil Young's Archives. But Harvest is an undeniable high point along the NY discography, which rolls deep. And it now it seems a prescient pick, as its title track has taken on a new life lately during this charitable season. 24Bit reports on two separate but equally noteworthy takes on the tune for charity comps: Ben Gibbard offering one to the GIVE Seattle project (benefitting Arts Corps), Kevin Barnes doing another for Paste's Songs For Haiti: 2010 Earthquake Relief. Hear KB's take here.

Three's a trend, and the latest homage comes via St. Vincent and Bon Iver, who covered "Harvest Moon" at the Bowery Presents & Brooklyn Vegan's stacked Haiti benefit at Music Hall Of Williamsburg Saturday night. Watch it:
