The Polyphonic Spree – “You Don’t Know Me”
The teaming, cultlike Texan psych-pop choir the Polyphonic Spree haven’t released a proper album in about six years, but they’ll be back in a few months with the new studio effort Yes, It’s True. The album collects music that the band’s recorded over the past few years, and frontman Tim DeLaughter (former leader of the underrated ’90s grunge-poppers Tripping Daisy) says, “This record feels like a collection of ‘songs’ rather than a long listening piece which we’ve done previously in the Spree stylistically. It’s kind of refreshing.” Listen to the dizzy and fired-up opener “You Don’t Know Me” at Consequence Of Sound.
Yes, It’s True is out 5/28 on Good Records.
