Western Lows – “Icicles” (Stereogum Premiere)
Western Lows, a new project from Mezzanine Owls’ Jack Burnside, could have probably been called the Twilight Singers if the name weren’t already taken. The track “Icicles” is a perfect combination of orange-sky guitars with late night cruise bass and percussion — the perfect soundtrack for gloaming. It comes from the debut album Glacial, which was worked on with Crooked Fingers’ Jeremy Wheatley and Bright Eyes-contributor Clay Leverett and produced by Saddle Creek-everyman and Now It’s Overhead-member Andy LeMaster, who plays bass on the track. Check it out below.
Western Lows’ debut album Glacial is out 6/4 via JAXART.
