James Blake – “Take A Fall For Me” (Feat. RZA) & “Every Day I Ran”
Next week, British smarty-pants electronic pop prince James Blake will release his new album Overgrown, and we’ve posted a handful of its songs: “Retrograde,” “And Holy Ghost,” “Voyeur,” a live version of “Our Love Comes Back,” the Brian Eno collab “Digital Lion.” And now Blake has posted a couple more on his own Tumblr. “Take A Fall For Me” has an emotive guest rap from the Wu-Tang abbot RZA, and it throws that verse over a ghostly lope of a beat and adds some disorienting vocal filters; stream that one here. And the Overgrown bonus track turns Big Boi’s voice into a spectral echo the way Big Boi’s buddy Big K.R.I.T. turned Blake’s own voice into a spectral echo on his own track “R.E.M.“; hear that one here.
Overgrown is out 4/8 on Atlas/Republic.
