Before releasing the excellent Sun last year, Cat Power had gone six years without dropping an album of new material. But when she sang on the most recent episode of the BBC's Later With Jools Holland, Chan Marshall offered some indication that we might not have to wait so long next time. On the show, she sang a new song called "Bully," a spare and heartbreaking ballad that she same with only a single restrained piano for accompaniment. The song is nothing like the mutated chart-pop she was making on Sun; instead, it's closer to her quiet and fragile early material. Watch the performance below.
