I'm not sure what, exactly, people are expecting when they shell out to see the Rolling Stones arena-tour extravaganza, but they probably aren't counting on appearances from voice-ravaged weirdo hero Tom Waits, even if he has recorded a bunch of stuff with Keith Richards over the years. Last night, however, Waits joined the Stones onstage at Oakland's Oracle Arena, beautifully growling his way through "Little Red Rooster," a blues standard most associated with Howlin' Wolf but covered by a bazillion others. The crowd, bless their hearts, appeared to recognize the man. Watch a fan-made video below.
