The St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival began as a Melbourne street party in 2004 and eventually grew into a gigantic Australian festival tour. And this fall, it’ll debut in America with a one-day festival in Detroit. That festival goes down 9/14 at the Rochester Hills venue Meadow Brook Music Festival, with the National and Sigur Rós headlining. The supporting bill is pretty killer, too; it features the Dismemberment Plan, Deerhunter, Solange, Savages, El-P and Killer Mike performing together as Run The Jewels, AlunaGeorge, Youth Lagoon, Charli XCX, Washed Out, Frightened Rabbit, Phosphorescent, My Brightest Diamond, Chvrches, Icona Pop, and a bunch of others. There’s some talk of turning this into an annual American tour, which, I mean, let’s hope.
