Mac Miller – “Suplexes Inside Of Complexes And Duplexes” (Feat. Jay Electronica) & “Gees” (Feat. Schoolboy Q)
Look guys, I’m sorry, and I’m not any more ready for this than you are, but we’re going to have to start taking Mac Miller seriously. On the strength of recent collabs with people like Flying Lotus, Ab-Soul, and Earl Sweatshirt, Miller, who just a couple of years ago was one of the most irritating people in rap, has stepped his game up to a scary degree and emerged as a lovably goofy and weird stoner-rapper. And on two new songs, he holds his own with two fiercely beloved underground rappers. On the loonily titled “Suplexes Inside Of Complexes And Duplexes,” Miller and the mercurial Jay Electronica do fiendish things to a dusty breakbeat. And on “Gees,” Miller and Schoolboy Q go nuts with a fizzy, beepy beat from the Cool Kids’ Chuck Inglish. Stream both tracks below.
Miller’s new album Watching Movies With The Sound Off is out 6/18 on Rostrum. I’m excited!
