Chelsea Wolfe – “The Warden”
Chelsea Wolfe is now on pace to release her fourth album of witchy, overwhelmed-by-darkness bedroom-pop in four years. The descriptively titled Pain Is Beauty, her next one, arrives this fall, and it follows 2010’s The Grime And The Glow, 2011’s Apokalypsis, and 2012’s Unknown Rooms: A Collection Of Acoustic Songs. And the new album’s first single “The Warden” sounds like what might happen if Zola Jesus signed to Italians Do It Better. It’s a cold, heartbroken synthetic throb, and you can hear it below.
Pain Is Beauty is out 9/3 on Sargent House.
