Vampire Weekend’s “Diane Young” and Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” placed second and third, respectively, in our poll for 2013’s Song Of The Summer. Both were devoured whole, however, by Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky.” So perhaps as a way of combining the powerful (but ultimately ineffectual) voter blocs split by the two tracks, Vampire Weekend have covered “Blurred Lines” for BBC’s Live Lounge. The original is pretty close to perfect, and even if VW are taking the piss a little bit, they treat the track pretty reverently and don’t mess with it too much. Hey, it worked for Josh Homme. So we gotta have a do-over on that vote or nah? Listen.
