Download Chief Keef Bang Part 2 Mixtape
The young Chicago rap nihilist Chief Keef just turned 18, and he also just released his Bang Part 2 mixtape, his first full-length after last year’s proper debut album Finally Rich. I haven’t listened yet, because Doris. But Keef is the rare rapper who might sound more vital on low-bitrate tagged-up MP3s than he does with a major-label mastering job. And I think it’s telling that only a couple of the songs on the mixtape skate past three minutes, and that the tape has no famous guests. If this is Keef’s basement-rap retrenchment move, it’s right on time. You can stream or download Bang Part 2 here. Meanwhile, Keef also has two new videos. Director Will Hoopes put together a gorgeously simple dirtbike-centric clip for Keef’s bizarre, floaty, indelible Finally Rich track “Citgo,” which stands as the album’s boldest and maybe best song, and Mr. Boomtown directed a clip for the Keef/Gucci Mane collab “Darker,” from Gucci’s Trap House III tape. Watch both below.
