Last week, we learned the exciting news that Grimes, along with fashion designer Rachel Antonoff, would co-host MTV Style's VMA red carpet show. Sadly, we did not get one single glimpse of Claire Boucher on the network's official pre-show. But Grimes stayed busy filming on-camera interviews for the web. There was the much-blogged-about moment where she and 2 Chainz discovered that they were wearing the same Versace sweatpants, and then there was the laundry list of luminaries who Boucher talked to: Riff Raff, Lil Kim, 30 Seconds To Mars, Snooki, Richard Simmons, and a ton of others. I feel like Riff Raff deserves some sort of prize for being nicest to Grimes, and Jordan Catalano deserves a stern warning for hitting on her. Also, next year's Video Vanguard award should go to Grimes' "it's really cool to meet you" face.
