Los Campesinos! are back in October with a new album from which they’ve just shared a new track. Overflowing with death-obsessed lyrics that nonetheless slice with cleverness (choice line: “Why must I lie awake, from dusk until the morning, through fear of bein’ impaled upon errant mattress spring?”) the track is absolute ear candy. Synths, guitars, and drums all hurl hook after hook, which certainly softens the blow of Gareth’s (it’s all on a first name basis when it comes to this band) lyrics. Sure enough though, there’s still a lot of hope to be found in a song whose concluding message is, “Death leaves behind love.” Listen and download below, and pre-order No Blues here.
