Watch Kurt Vile Receive Philadelphia’s Highest Honor And Play City Hall
Kurt Vile is maybe the only native Philadelphia son who can sing in a full-on mushmouthed Philly accent and make it sound pretty, so the city clearly owes him a lot, and they know it. Philadelphia has already given Vile a parade and his own Kurt Vile Day, and now they’ve presented him with the Liberty Bell Award, the city’s highest honor. City Hall Presents gave Vile the award last week, and you can watch him getting the award and playing a solo version of his gorgeous “Wakin On A Pretty Day” below.

Vile’s excellent Wakin On A Pretty Daze is out now on Matador.
