For New York Fashion Week (which was last week) Atoms For Peace put together what they call, “a collage of unreleased beats,” for the Rag & Bone runway show. At just under 11 minutes, it’s not a particularly long mix, but they managed to fit a ton of interesting material in. Opening with a samba-like beat and wordless vocals, that initial groove turns into a sort of mantra for all sorts of rhythms and strange sound effects to buzz in and out of. It’s supremely hypnotic, more so than anything on Amok even, and grows so gradually that by the time you realize you’re in the midst of a total banger it’s already honing in on the close.
