Johnny D's was always a sort of inconspicuous place in Davis Square in Somerville, MA, where I lived for a couple of months last year. It was always just another place I'd pass by while heading home or to the Red Line stop to catch the T. It's not a place you would expect, let's say, Neil Young to show up and perform at, but that's exactly what he did last night. Young's wife, Pegi, was playing a set at the venue and a fan video captured the one moment where Neil took the lead. He played a new song that people are referring to as "Drive My Car," which ironically is exactly the opposite of what Young did last week when his million-dollar electric car broke down in the desert. It's a little tough to make Young out, but the audio is clear. Watch it below and check out our countdown of Neil Young's albums from worst to best.
