Mazes – “Hayfever Wristband”
The London-based band Mazes released their LP Ores & Minerals this past spring, and today they presented a single off of their forthcoming mini-album Better Ghosts due out in November. “Hayfever Wristband” boasts some of the most charming lo-fi lyricism imaginable — singer Jack Cooper makes references to “face painting with flowers” and “antelopes eloping” accompanied by a manic guitar riff that ascends and then stops abruptly, looping on for the just-barely 3-minute run time. Better Ghosts is due out 11/11 via Fat Cat Records.
