Download Cam’ron Ghetto Heaven Mixtape
The one advertising campaign that I will remember for the rest of my life was back in 1998 when Lance “Un” Rivera, who is probably known more for being stabbed by Jay Z than being one of Biggie’s best friends and the dude responsible for Lil’ Kim’s landmark Hard Core, had launched a new label Untertainment, and was pushing his signees with ads that read “Who Is [Artist]?” It totally worked on me because I was desperate to know. The posters were for Charli Baltimore and Cam’ron and I became pretty devoted to both of them, so much so that even my mom was excited when Cam’s debut Confessions Of Fire came out. And in retrospect, there’s a reason why that album will not be going into his canon of classics like Purple Haze or S.D.E. because it’s pretty mediocre — but if you use it as a reference point for his progress, you really understand that his flow has always been his flow and it will be forever. He’s still the same guy on his new tape Ghetto Heaven, which might have the best cover art of the year. The collection features beats from Araabmuzik and guest features 2 Chainz, T.I., and Yo Gotti, as well as a song about Catfish via Instagram and closes with Cam rapping over Jodeci’s “Come And Talk To Me.” Check it out below.
