Los Campesinos! – “Avocado, Baby”
Los Campesinos! have released another new single off their forthcoming album No Blues due out at the end of the month. We heard the equally catchy and morbid track “What Death Leaves Behind” back in August, and “Avocado, Baby” was definitely born of the same equation. “Avocado, Baby” boasts some wildly depressing lyrics (“May she who casts the first fist of dirt across the casket have mourners lick the mud from her fingernails”) paired with a kind-of-hilarious food metaphor: “A heart of stone/ Rind so tough it’s crazy/ That’s why they call me the avocado, baby.” Listen below.
No Blues is out 10/29 via Wichita Recordings/Turnstile/Heart Swells.
