Watch The Dismemberment Plan Cover Heart’s “Barracuda”
Their new album Uncanney Valley may not be the return to form that many of us were hoping for, but reunited D.C. postpunk greats the Dismemberment Plan remain one of the great live bands in the indie rock universe, and a ridiculously tight and versatile group of musicians. (Back in the day, they were the one indie band who seemed most likely to cross over to the jam-band cosmos.) And so it’s a kick to see the band, in their entry on the A.V. Club’s Undercover web series, effortlessly covering a classic-rock radio staple like Heart’s “Barracuda.” The lyrics translate surprisingly well to Travis Morrison’s conversational delivery, too.
