PacSun Selling Official Yeezus Shirts
In one of his recent radio interviews Kanye West expressed his frustration that the Gap was unwilling to work with him. Well, the Gap’s loss is Pacific Sunwear’s gain, apparently. Thursday evening, PacSun quoted Kanye’s “I Am A God” in a tweet (“I just talked to Jesus he said, ‘What up Yeezus?’ See you tomorrow. @kanyewest”) along with a placard advertising Yeezus tour merch for sale starting today. Then today six items of Yeezus tour merch did indeed appear in PacSun’s online store, all designed by Kanye and featuring art by Wes Lang. None of the tees with Confederate flags or skeletons wearing Native American headdresses are among PacSun’s Yeezus selections, although skeletons do figure prominently. Complex notes that some fans are upset that what seemed like rare tour merch will now be available in shopping malls: “To these fans, this removed the rareness and attachment that the T-shirts, sweatshirts, tote bags, and hats had to Kanye’s theatrical show where they intended to or already had copped.” Have a look at the items at PacSun’s site.
