Guerilla Toss – “Trash Bed” (Stereogum Premiere)
If you’ve ever had the privilege of experiencing Guerilla Toss live (for an idea you can read our coverage of Boston Hassle Fest) you’ll know that they’re one of the most chaotic acts around. At their concerts, the music swerves between noise brutality and throbbing funk as the crowd shifts unpredictably from dancing to moshing and back again with a completely natural flow. In fact Guerilla Toss’ live show is so incredible that I was starting to doubt whether they would (or could) make a recording that reached the same level of beauty that you get from them face to face. Of course I hadn’t heard Gay Disco yet, their new record which hits you like a wrecking ball made out of candy. Listen to album opener “Trash Bed.”
Gay Disco is out 12/10 via NNA Tapes.
