IFC & R. Kelly Reunite For More “Trapped In The Closet” Chapters
One of this century’s great absurd pop-culture moments happened in 2005, when R. Kelly sat down with IFC TV host (and my college buddy) Matt Singer to discuss “Trapped In The Closet,” his super-fun multi-part R&B radio-play opera. Since then, Kelz and IFC have become inextricably intertwined, with Kelly pushing “Trapped In The Closet” to 33 chapters, casting Will Oldham in a brief supporting role, and letting IFC air all of them. And it’s not going to stop anytime soon. IFC is partnering up with Kelly to debut more “Trapped In The Closet” chapters next year. And on Saturday, starting at 5:15 eastern, IFC will air a marathon of all 33 “Trapped In The Closet” chapters. Also, on Tuesday, Kelly is set to release his freaky new album Black Panties.
