Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds – “Higgs Boson Blues” Video
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds made a grandiose post-Grinderman comeback with Push The Sky Away, which earned Album Of The Week honors way back in February. One standout from that record was “Higgs Boson Blues,” a moribund eight-minute epic involving the devil, Robert Johnson, and, uh, Miley Cyrus. (“Hannah Montana, she does the African savannah while the simulated rainy season begins,” et al.) Directors Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard have presented a shadowy performance video featuring an even longer and more epic live version of the song. It’s a fucking monster, and you should watch the whole thing below — not because of some surprise at the end, just because it rules.
Push The Sky Away is out now via Bad Seed Ltd. A Cave documentary, 20,000 Days On Earth, premieres at Sundance next month, and the Bad Seeds are touring North America in the summer. Dates:
