Watch David Byrne Perform With An Orchestral Ensemble At Jherek Bischoff Composed
For the last two nights, the composer Jherek Bischoff has played shows at New York’s St. Ann’s Warehouse, playing with a group of musicians that included the Contemporaneous Ensemble and Deerhoof’s Greg Saunier. The shows have also included guests like Zola Jesus, Sondre Lerche, Mirah, and David Byrne. Byrne closed Wednesday night’s show by performing his Brian Eno collab “Strange Overtones,” a song he and Bischoff wrote called “The Fat Man’s Comin’,” and a beautifully sprightly take on the Talking Heads classic “And She Was,” looking as spry and excited as ever the whole time. Watch fan-made videos of all three songs below.
Bischoff’s album Composed is out now on Brassland.
