La Dispute – “Stay Happy There”
Like Ceremony and Touche Amore before them, the Grand Rapids, Michigan band La Dispute are a band of self-serious post-hardcore expressionists who built a ground-up audience at a time when the indie press tends to ignore bands like those. (And yes, we at Stereogum are just about as guilty of this as anyone else.) But they’re a great band, and their forthcoming third album Rooms Of A House seems like a good place for many of us to stop sleeping on them. Early track “Stay Happy There” is a fired-up sprint that abruptly switches up tempos but never loses focus. Listen to it below.
Rooms Of A House is out 3/18 on the band’s own Better Living label.
