YG – “Left, Right” (Feat. DJ Mustard) Video
If you care about rap music, then YG is an exciting sign that the system still works. He’s not a Tumblr star or a post-Drake emoter; he’s a West Coast tough guy with a distinct sound, an organically huge audience, an easy charisma, and a strong chance to be really, really famous. In recent weeks, we’ve posted his all-star “My Nigga” remix and his Drake collab “Who Do You Love?,” and now he’s got a long, slick, big-budget video for his strip-club banger “Left, Right.” It’s nothing you haven’t seen before, especially if you’ve spent some time with that first wave of Death Row videos, but the video is full of local L.A. color and butts, and both of those are good things. Producer DJ Mustard, responsible for much of YG’s rise, gets to play air violin and act like Mannie Fresh on “Back That Azz Up.” Alex Nazari directs; watch it below.

YG’s album My Krazy Life is out 3/18 on CTE World/Def Jam, and I’m excited.
