The Men – “Different Days”
“Pearly Gates” and “Another Night,” the last two songs we heard from Brooklyn band the Men, sounded like classic-rock bands coating their sound with scuzz. But “Different Days,” their latest, sounds like a krautrock crew trying to find room for a little bit of Allmann Brothers choogle-boogie in their staring-into-the-void rhythmic infinity. Even as the Men continue to edge into hooky car-radio rock, then, they keep the noisier edges of their sound intact. All three of those songs come from the Men’s forthcoming album Tomorrow’s Hits, and all three of them rule. Listen to “Different Days” below.
Tomorrow’s Hits is out 3/4 on Sacred Bones.
