Stream Angel Olsen Burn Your Fire For No Witness
Angel Olsen’s 2012 album Half Way Home was a stirring, haunting acoustic record, a powerful example that straight-up folk music can still set your brain tingling when it’s done right. But on her new album Burn Your Fire For No Witness, Olsen only keeps a bit of that Half Way Home atmosphere, and she also brings in huge, emotive full-band alt-rock riffage. All the songs we’ve heard from the album — “Forgiven/Forgotten,” “Hi-Five,” “White Fire” — have been excellent, and now you get your chance to hear that the whole album is the absolute truth. Burn Your Fire For No Witness is one of the best albums of the year thus far, and you can stream all of it at NPR.
Burn Your Fire For No Witness is out 2/18 on Jagjaguwar.
