There are a ton of bands out there playing ramshackle twee-pop, but many of them come off as rote ’90s revivalists. That’s never been the case with the Roanoke, Virginia trio Eternal Summers, who play the music straight-up, but who bring a real sense of verve and life to it. The band’s new album The Drop Beneath is out next week, and we’ve already heard first single “Gouge.” They’ve now shared another one, the peppy and buoyant “Never Enough.” Listen to it at Soundcloud.
