Watch Karen O Sing “The Moon Song” & “Maps” At Oscar Nominees Night
“The Moon Song,” Karen O’s musical collaboration with Spike Jonze for his film Her, is up for Best Original Song at the Oscars next month. It’ll compete with U2’s “No Ordinary Love,” Frozen hit “Let It Go,” and Pharrell’s “Happy.” (The obscure “You Are Not Alone” has been disqualified). And last night, some other Oscar hopefuls got to watch the Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman sing the song live at The Hollywood Reporter’s Nominees Night event at Spago in Los Angeles. Along with “The Moon Song,” she did “Maps” for what she said was only the second time ever without Nick Zinner and Brian Chase. Watch video of both songs below.
Nice Lolawolf hat, Juno! Earlier in the day Karen got to meet Leo at the Nominee Luncheon…
I like that more formal version of Pharrell’s Buffalo Hat.
The Oscars air 3/2 on ABC (UPDATE: and Karen O will perform on the show). Watch the rare original trailer for Her below:
