Stream Tinariwen Emmaar
The eternally badass Tuareg desert-blues band Tinariwen recorded their new album Emmaar in Joshua Tree when the political climate Mali, their hometown, made it impossible to record there. The LP includes a deeply random collection of American guest musicians — Saul Williams, Chavez frontman Matt Sweeney, Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer — but it’s still very much a product of the band’s singular psychedelic aesthetic. We’ve posted the early track “Toumast Tincha (The People Have Been Sold Out),” but now the whole album, which hit stores yesterday, is streaming online. Listen below.
