Mas Ysa, well-traveled avant-pop upstart Thomas Arsenault’s alter ego, is in the midst of a West Coast tour run in support of this year’s Worth EP, and he’s just released a remix of his trembling single “Years” to mark the occasion. Dutch E Germ, aka former Gang Gang Dance member Tim DeWit, has taken a minimal, foreboding song and made it only slightly less minimal and foreboding. DeWit’s remix is the sound of a door cracking open on the harrowing “Years” to bathe it it in faint celestial light, but not at the expense of the original’s chilling demeanor.
