Studio wizard Todd Rundgren has made a nice habit of remixing other artists in the last couple of years. Following a surprise Lindstrøm rework, his take on “Elephant” by Tame Impala was the best of the many remixes the band did. Now the psych-pop legend has taken on Au Revoir Simone’s “Boiling Point.” It will appear on the band’s upcoming remix EP, brightness/contrast, along with takes by Étienne Daho and David Lynch, among others. The original was a spacious and pillowy track, but Rundgren rebuilds it into a shimmering and dramatic counterpoint.
