Pattern Is Movement – “Climb To Me” (Stereogum Premiere)
Pattern Is Movement are always exploring interesting new sounds (and putting out awesome covers), and judging from this new single, their upcoming self-titled album will keep that going. “Climb To Me” is surprising in how it throws itself in so many directions without ever seeming to spread itself thin. Throughout the song, the xylophone, funky drums, and sawing strings all do their own thing before tying themselves back together, with the knotty bass lines providing a bit of glue for everything.
