SXSW 2014: Best Bets For Tuesday
The SXSW Music Conference officially kicks off today, but it’s sort of a soft launch; with a majority of attendees arriving no earlier than that afternoon, Tuesday’s music festivities are relatively limited, and don’t really get going until after dark. In fact, one of Tuesday’s best bets isn’t even part of the Music Conference, but the closing party for the SXSW Interactive Conference — featuring performances by 2chainz, Pusha T, Method Man & Redman, and Aloe Blacc — attendance for which requires either a Platinum, Gold, or Interactive badge. Even if you don’t have such a badge, however, there’s still a nice selection of parties worth attending, including a great K-Pop bash and one of SXSW 2014’s best metal lineups, plus bills headlined by Coldplay and Chance The Rapper (pictured above). Anyway, without further ado, here are Tuesday’s best bets:
iTunes Festival @ Moody Theater (310 W Willie Nelson Blvd.) 8:30PM to 12AM
Performances by Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, and London Grammar.
Chicago Made Music Showcase @ Red 7 (611 E. 7th St.) 8PM – 2AM
Performances by Chance The Rapper, The Autumn Defense, The Hood Internet, Archie Powell & The Exports, My Gold Mask, Bonzie, ShowYouSuck, and Prob Cause.
Media Temple’s 2014 SXSWi Official Closing Party @ Stubb’s BBQ (801 Red River St.) 8:30PM to 2AM
Celebrating 30 years of Def Jam with 2chainz, Pusha T, Method Man & Redman, and Aloe Blacc.
Pitchfork’s Show No Mercy Showcase @ House of Vans At Mohawk (912 Red River St.) 7PM – 2AM
Performances by Indian, Kylesa, Power Trip, Christian Mistress, Windhand, Iron Reagan, Youth Code, Gnaw, Primitive Man, Psalm Zero, Sannhet, and Yautja.
K-Pop Night Out @ Elysium (705 Red River St.) 7PM – 2AM
Performances by HyunA, Jay Park, Idiotape, Crying Nut, Kiha & The Faces, Nell, and Jambinai.
You can stream the iTunes Festival on Vevo all week, by the way.
