We just learned that Charli XCX did a session with Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo for her new album, and damn if this new single "Breaking Up" doesn't sound like Cuomo's handiwork. When that cock-rock guitar kicks in, you can practically see the Flying V. Charli, who penned Icona Pop's aggressive pop smash "I Love It, has been moving toward a more rock-influenced sound herself lately, and it suits her. Below, watch video of Charli performing the new tune at Austin venue Scoot Inn during SXSW.

Charli's follow-up to 2013's True Romance is expected this year via Asylum/Atlantic.
