Rolling Stones Postpone Australia/New Zealand Tour In The Wake Of Mick Jagger’s Girlfriend’s Suicide
In addition to being a world-renowned fashion designer, the late L’Wren Scott was also Mick Jagger’s girlfriend of more than a decade. Scott was found dead in her New York apartment Monday of an apparent suicide, so the Rolling Stones have postponed their next few weeks of tour dates through Australia and New Zealand to give Jagger and his bandmates time to grieve. It’s hard to imagine the guy strutting around shaking his hips during “Start Me Up” in light of such tragic news. The band released a statement along with the postponement notice:
The Rolling Stones are deeply sorry and disappointed to announce the postponement of the rest of their 14 ON FIRE tour of Australia and New Zealand following the death of L’Wren Scott.
Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood wish to thank all of their fans for their support at this difficult time and hope that they will fully understand the reason for this announcement.
The Rolling Stones are planning to reschedule these postponed shows at a later date.
Here are the postponed dates:
3/19 Perth, Australia @ Perth Arena
3/22 Adelaide, Australia @ Adelaide Oval
3/25 Sydney, Australia @ Allphones Arena
3/28 Melbourne, Australia @ Rod Laver Arena
3/30 Macedon Ranges, Australia @ Hanging Rock
