Sadie Dupuis – “Pretend To Be Nice” (Josie And The Pussycats Cover)
One of the many Record Store Day exclusives coming to your local brick-and-mortar shop on 4/19 is Faux Real, a compilation of “faux songs by real bands” featuring Northeast indie titans Potty Mouth, Bent Shapes, and Radiator Hospital covering songs by fake bands from movies and TV shows. Among the participants is Speedy Ortiz frontwoman Sadie Dupuis, who turned in a warm lo-fi take on the Josie And The Pussycats track “Pretend To Be Nice,” originally penned by Fountains Of Wayne’s Adam Schlesinger and performed by Letters To Cleo’s Kay Hanley.
