Low Pros – “Muscle” (Feat. Juvenile)
If A-Trak seems, at first, to be the driving force behind Low Pros, his new duo with trap-rap producer Lex Luger, he sure looked like something else last week. Low Pros headlined the Fool’s Gold SXSW party, and A-Trak barely seemed to be there. Instead, he ceded center stage to Luger and Luger’s crew of rap-production contemporaries — Metro Boomin, Sonny Digital — as they partied onstage. And while they were up there, a crazy procession of street-rap big dogs (Migos, PeeWee Longway, Young Thug, Travi$ Scott, Que, YG) hit the stage, performed their hits, and then bounced. (Young Thug, in a celebratory mood, declined to bounce; he stayed onstage all night and played hypeman to everyone else. It was awesome.) Thus far, A-Trak has also been a supporting player in every Low Pros song. The Thug/PeeWee collab “Jack Tripper” and the Travi$ Scott track “100 Bottles” have tempos that inch closer toward dance music, but they’re very much rap songs. That’s also the case with “Muscle,” Low Pros’ new collab with Cash Money first-generation star Juvenile, which A-Trak co-produced with Luger, Metro, and High Klassified. Listen below.
